Very nice surgery. compliments. Why did you select calcium sulfate and did you mix with another bone product? Thanks Dr. Salama

In this case two types of bone cement was used .
the first one that was used is 3D bond which is a pure biphasic calcium sulphate ,this type of material is a short term space maintainer that completely resorb and relatively fast ,it was used here as a first layer on the sinus membrane in order to prevent direct contact between the granules and the sinus lining ,and at the same time to to obliterate and to prevent any micro perforation that might be on the membrane .also during the degradation the release of vast amount of calcium ions provides a favourable environment for the osteoblasts differentiation .
The second type of cement that was used on the outer surface above the sinus window was Bond Apatite cement
BA is a composite graft made of a mixture of BCS and HA .this type of cement is a longer space maintainer that helps us to close the sinus window without membrane and at the same time to increase the width of the crest .
