In Implants
This is a situation where there was a previously endodontically treated and restored tooth that fractured at the gingival line. The patient requested a metal free solution to replace the tooth. Tooth #7 extraction was immediately followed by the placement of a zirconia monoblock/one-piece tapered self-tapping implant with a fixed temporary prosthesis. The existing ceramic crown was cleaned, hollowed and relined to the abutment portion of the implant. Temporary cementation was done with a RMGI mixed with 1/3 proportion of vaseline for ease of subsequent removal at the time of permanent restoration.
Implant abutment margin was prepared to the gingival line, the permanent crown cemented with RMGI after decontamination with Ivoclean and priming with a zirconia primer.
