In Implants
A Patient with multiple PFM crowns and a history of metal sensitivity presents with a fractured maxillary right second premolar. Patient wants to stop metals being inserted in her mouth and is in the process of replacing her existing PFM crowns. Tooth #5 is fractured at the gingival line and is non-restorable. Treatment plan is to extract with periotomes and immediately place a Zirkolith Z5(C) of 4.0mm diameter by 10mm long. Insertion torque was 35Ncm and primary stability was achieved. Thanks to the subtractive laser modified surface of the implant and bone cells affinity for bioceramics the restorative phase was started and completed 3 months post-implantation. The first step was abutment connection which was bonded to the implant and a porcelain fused to zirconia (PFZ) crown bonded to the abutment after cleaning and priming with zirconia primer.
