Surgery of two upper lateral incisors using CeraRoot ceramic implants

Posted on By Xavi & Josep Oliva In Implants

This patient was missing her upper lateral incisors since she was born. Orthodontic treatment was needed to open the space in order to fit two CeraRoot ceramic implants. After a couple of years of orthodontic treatment, the zirconia implants were placed, and protected with an Essix retainer. Three months after surgery, the ceramic crowns were cemented on the implants. The color of the gum and the level of bone indicates how biocompatible the CeraRoot implants are. The surgery was performed by the dentist (Periodontist) Dr. Abdy Moshrefi in Beverly Hills, California.

Very nice outcome, congratulations!
Do you have any literature about the interface of ceramic implants and bone? I mean about the difference between zirconia and metal osseointegration?
Thanks
Jorge
