30 year old male Patient with bilaterally impacted wisdom teeth and consequent decay on distal surface of 2nd molars, chronic cheek bite and pericoronitis requires surgical removal, my concern is the anatomical vicinity of the inferior alveolar nerve and its relationship with the roots of the wisdom teeth,
CBCT images not available, should I defer the surgery or advise a coronectomy ,please advise,
thanks

Better to remove. Most of the cases show similar proximity of roots to IAN in Panorax, but in reality it will be in different plane ( safe). To reconfirm CBCT is the choice. Regards, Ashok

Absolutely agree, CBCT and extraction. Divide roots for saber outcome.
