Difficult Case lateral window approach

Posted on By Sherif Salama In Sinus Augmentation

Implant placed in previous extraction site with 5mm of bone above the sinus , lateral sinus window was performed with placement of implant and xenograft, the vertical defect was covered by sticky bone (xenograft and iprf) prf membrane was placed and a slow resorbing collagen membrane was placed, very difficult case due to limited mouth opening and sinus septum, implant was planned to be placed a bit distal to avoid sinus septum however by error was placed a bit more distal which will be solved by angeled abutment , what do you think guyss???

Tough case. Nice job with sinus. Your biggest ussue is going to be the loss of bone on mesial if molar and lack of bony walls to supply cells for regeneration to your sticky bone graft around your implant. Keep us posted. Dr. S

Thank you so much for your comment Dr. Maurice .
I would love to know how would u have managed such a case with the septum obstacle to avoid the proximity to the molar.
