Autograft: particulate dentin plus PRF

Posted on By snjezana pohl In Bone Grafting

Dedicated to my friend Rocco Mele.
Particulate dentin becomes an important tool in our clinic.
Few sites done some months ago are reopened to place implants.
It looks like bone, it bleeds like bone and it feels like bone.

Outstanding....would have been great to verify this with histology!! But it does look LIKE BONE. regards Dr. Salama

Yes, the tissue looks very vital and it feels like bone type 2 when drilling, I even osseodensified. There was almost no difference to the surrounding bone, especially on the site covered with collagen membrane, although the collagen membrane is officialy not necessary to cover a sticky autograft.
I have taken a probe for histology from an other case, I should have it these days.
Best regards and thank you for your comment

Hi Snjezana;
Can particulate dentine be used anyplace where grafting material is used?

Thanks for your comment.
Beautiful Case. We also have excellent, and sometimes exuberant bone especially when additional biologics are utilized.

FYI,never a complication and used in socket augmentation and large re builds
What kind of plate did you use?

Love your work.....

Hi, Rocco, it was you who showed us a potential of particulate dentin. We exchanged mails, your results convinced me and I am really thankful to have this additional source of autogenous material!

Very well managed as usual , I like tooth instead of bone ,but aren't you worried of dentin grinder which do no sterilize the tooth and use some chemical liquids , instead of vacuasonic which really demineralized teeth and sterilized the tooth , wth dentin grinder the chace of infection rise,Cheers you stilll the quenn.:)

Carlos, thank you for your input.
Well, be sure that I contacted some colleagues who have experience with dentin grinder, read the literature and bothered the company with some mails. Their cleanser is obviously very effective, an infection almost unknown. You can also sterilize particulate dentin in autoclave.
