34 teeth, extra wisdom teeth

Posted on By Qamar Abbas In Patient/Consumer Inquiries

I am 32-years old and during my recent visit to a dentist I was informed that I have 34 teeth (two extra wisdom teeth). The dentist was smiling that he never seen this before. Can anyone advise if need to do anything in this case.

Thank you,
Qamar

Having an extra one or two extra wisdom teeth is not uncommon and they can probably stay in place for your lifetime unless they are interfering with other teeth. If they eventually erupt you can easily have them removed but no harm to leave them in. Be sure your dentist xrays them periodically to make sure there is no pathology present.
